It is always a good news when you received a delivery from your trusted supplier. Yesterday, a big box arrived, containing a large quantities of specially designed and made power transformers for the Classique Phono Valve Amp kit.
These transformers are low flux density with high quality M6 laminations, meaning the magnetising current is tiny and the stray flux is small. Additionally a bright copper flux band was added to reduce any stray flux down to almost nothing.
Good news for all vinyl fans! After going through final set of tests, our DIY Classique Phono Valve Amplifier boards are now ready for production.
The valve phono amplifier, which consists of two 12ax7 and a single 12au7 valves on a double layered PCB will be part of a DIY kit as well as individual module (PCB and components).
The DIY valve phono amplifier will be available at our online shop shortly.
Well, they are suppose to be green! For some reason, during the development process of these boards, someone must have chosen the wrong colour!
These boards are going through final stages of tests and will be available rather soon.
The amplification is done two 12AX7 valves per channel. One being dedicated for the phono stage (with passive RIAA equalization) and another one for managing a line-level pre-amp duty. Output impedance is set to 100KOhm.
We have decided to for green PCBs rather than the standard blue for any future PCB! Whilst working with the latest production, we had a long and heated discussions on the best colour for the PCBs!
YES we do think that the colour effects the audio quality by indirectly changing the brain perception of the audio integrity. No scientific study of course – only some late night listening and discussions…
